Last Update 8 days ago

As the title above suggests we have now added the ability to send Whatsapp (and soon SMS) messages to your lead guests via our booking creation & update form screen.

This is where we give you the ability to send a whatsapp message directly from your own number, by linking your phone whatsapp application to the web based version of whatsapp which is explained below, as part of the instructions on how to use this feature.

This means the messages your guests get will be directly from your own number and not ours.

Sending Whatsapp Web Messages

1. Open an existing booking or create a new one in the normal way

2. As per the image below you will now see a button with the Whatsapp logo on it, to choose a pre-made message template
3. Also choose the language you want to send the message in here too

4. The following popup box will appear asking you choose which pre-made message type you want to send to the guest phone number:

A. Booking Created - A welcome type of message
B. Booking Chaser - This is to nudge the guests to register

The messages include the unique guest registration form link

5. Then click the "Send Message Whatsapp" button to move to the next step

6. Should you be using our system from your mobile phone, then by clicking "Send Message" blue button it will automatically open the whatsapp application on your phone, and insert the message into your phone app so you can manually send to the guest number.

7. Should you be using your desktop computer, laptop or a tablet, then the following web page will open in a new browser tab, where you have some additional options if your a first time user of web.whatsapp.com

This is a guest who is unknown in your existing whatsapp web address book, will be displayed like this:

This is to guest who you already have in your whatsapp web address book, is displayed like this:

8. In both cases the next screen will look like this if you are using a desktop, laptop or tablet without whatsapp web being already set up, in this instance you should click "use Whatsapp Web"

9. Once you have followed the whatsapp web setup instructions, the message that you chose from the pop up from the booking screen, will be inserted into a:

A. New conversation if the guest contact is unknown to you, or;

B. Existing conversation if the guest contact is in your contact list

10. Click "Send" to transmit the message to your guest contact mobile number.

It will be sent in whatever language you chose in the booking screen.

Should no language be chosen it will be sent in the default language you have set up in "Message Templates" in your account.

This can be found here, click "Actions" to see & edit the languages.
